Little Wheelers offers professional cycle coaching for children aged 3-12. From balance bike level to joining their first cycling club, our aim is to help your child develop their confidence on their bike as well as teaching key bike handling skills in a safe, traffic-free environment.

David Skinner

Managing Director

David has over 15 years of coaching experience, holding British Cycling qualifications as well as Community and Higher Sports Leaders Awards. He is also a qualified strength and conditioning coach which puts him in a great position to be able to develop our Little Wheelers’ fitness as well as their bike handling.

David is a father of two keen cyclists and a competitive track cyclist himself.

“I’m so passionate about coaching young children and watching them develop. Whether it’s to commute, ride socially or race, my aim is to guide the children in acquiring the necessary skills to allow them do it safely and effectively.”

Anthony Shaw

Coach

Anthony is a full time police officer and since 2008 has specialised as a detective with the Metropolitan Police. As well as holding his British Cycling coaching qualification his passion for cycling extends to conquering the mountains, recently climbing both Mont Ventoux in France and Sa Colabra in Mallorca.

Anthony has three children and as well as cycling enjoys basketball, taking an active role in running the Essex Leopards Basketball Club as its Community Director.

Jennie Nichols

Coach

Jennie is a qualified Bikeability instructor offering coaching to cyclists to ride safely on the road. Working predominatley throughout the schools in the county of Essex, although Jennie is a strong believer that it is never to late to learn.

Jennie's enthusiasm for cycling takes her through the roads of Essex, the beaches of Norfolk, the forests of the UK and the snowy mountains of Canada and the Rockies. All aided by the aquisition of her fat bike given to her on the back straight at Snetterton race track.

As the mother and grandmother of cyclists and, as a recently retired university administrator, taking on administration of Little Wheelers was a perfect way to be involved with this exciting and fast growing sport. ``I really enjoy seeing the children progress from balance bikes to formation riding and seeing them having fun along the way is great!``
